How do I schedule an instance to start everyday at 11:30 p.m. and stop at 6 a.m.?

You need to currently setup one start task and one stop task. We would like to consolidate into one task but have not done that yet. You can use the cron option for each task and specify a cron format string for the time you want the instance to start/stop.

When you say cron format string are you referring to something like this:
    30 23 * * *

Yes. Also the tasks currently all run in US Eastern TZ. So the task will run at the time specified in cron string in US ET.
