We are an account with 600+ Server's and want to take back up of the server's with multiple retention then how can we manage that.

We are an account with 600+ Server's and want to take back up of the server's with multiple retention then how can we manage that.

   Are these EBS instances? Do you have tags on them?

   HI team,

   Yes they do have tags. they are ebs instances.

   We also have IAM authentication issue. We are trying to connect aws account
   to ylastic.

   Please give us the requested info on the other post about IAM so we can help you.

   You can backup instances using the Copy Instances task. You specify a string to match in the name tag given to instances. If you want to use different retention policies, take a look at this blog post - http://blog.ylastic.com/post/122077381186/aws-resource-backup-policies

   Hi Team,

   We were able to resolve the IAM issue now we are connected.

   Now we need to create schedules, can we create schedules with a set of
   resources with a specific tag other than name.

   Right now you have to use the name tag. We are looking into adding a new task that can use any tag.

   Cool. If that's the case we will test it out. Other wise it will be hard
   for us to tag again, We will be looking for an update for the same.

   We need a tool which takes back up of all the server's weekly with a
   retention of one month. And all our server names are different. So in
   current case, we need to create 600+ schedules which are impractical.

   If we are doing this in a current situation how can we do it in case your
   new update is late.

   We will have it in 2 days. Right now you will need to use the name tag, and that will make it hard to do for that many servers.

    Got it.. Can share a Guide on how to take Ami of instance with specific
    tage. should we use copy instance option.

    Yes. The copy instance will let you specify tags to look for and the regions you want the AMi to be made in.
