Admin Functions

For example I would like to include extra columns (like cost) or exclude columns.
It would also be nice to get a report on demand, instead of having to wait till the next day.

A related request would be to get the data as a spreadsheet. You currently have an "export to csv) feature on the instance page, but that does not work very well.

   • The idea behind the export to CSV was to make it easy to import the data to a spreadsheet. Maybe we can enhance this to ensure it has all the column data needed?

   Yes, but you also have several bugs. As I posted to Prabhakar in support the data you export is NOT identical to what is shown on the screen. For example, it shows a bogus value for uptime for stopped instances.

   A second problem is that when there are multiple security groups, you export them separated with commas, which messes up the columns in excel. (You do manage to do it correctly in the daily PDF report). You also have empty lines separating each record.

   Also the way you have it now, the user has to select all, then copy and past it into excel, then convert text to xls format which is not obvious and does not always work as expected. You could simple create a real csv file and download it for the browser to save.
